Established in 1983, Challenge Almere-Amsterdam is renowned for its rich history and unique setting on reclaimed land below sea level. The swim takes place in the Weerwater lake, followed by a bike course that traverses dikes and polders, and a run course through Almere’s city center and green spaces. In 2025, the event will again host the Europe Triathlon Long Distance Championships, open to both elite and age-group athletes. Additional race formats include the TriTogether relays, RABO Business Relay, Family Relay, Junior Challenge, and Challenge4All, catering to a wide range of participants. The event is celebrated for its enthusiastic support, professional organization, and scenic Dutch landscapes.
