Over 18–19 July 2026, XTERRA Conquer the Crater returns as part of the XTERRA World Tour in Greater Sudbury. The event offers a full slate of formats, including Full Triathlon (1.5 km swim / 24 km bike / 9 km run), Sprint Triathlon (750 m swim / 13 km bike / 4.5 km run), Full Duathlon, Sprint Duathlon, and a trail run festival which features 42 km, 21 km, 10 km, 5 km, and youth races (1 km, 3 km, 5 km). The courses traverse double-track ski trails, challenging single-track sections, rock outcrops, pine forest, and mixed surfaces emblematic of the Canadian Shield. Proceeds support the Northern Cancer Foundation’s Miles Against Cancer fund, aiding pediatric cancer families in northeastern Ontario. Additional weekend features include a beer garden, music festival, kids’ day, and expo, enhancing the community and festival atmosphere.
