The 2026 Forest of Dean Autumn Half Marathon sends runners on a multi-terrain loop through the heart of the Forest of Dean, starting and finishing at Speech House. The course is run almost entirely on way-marked forest trails laid out by the Forestry Commission, with no road crossings, a mix of firm tracks and woodland paths, and a hillier profile than the spring edition. With around 1,000 places, friendly marshalling and clear trail markings, it balances a low-key club feel with smooth organisation. The event is run by the Rotary Club of the Royal Forest of Dean, with proceeds going to local and national charities, so every climb through the late-summer canopy does a bit of good beyond your own finish time.
