Now in its 8th year, the Galena River Fall Half Marathon & 8K offers runners a picturesque out-and-back course along the Galena River Trail, starting and finishing at Depot Park. The half marathon route includes a turnaround at 5.5 miles, followed by a short northern out-and-back segment to complete the 13.1 miles. The 8K course shares the initial path, turning around at 2.5 miles. Both races begin at 8:00 AM, with a course closure at 11:00 AM due to local Halloween festivities; therefore, walkers are not permitted in the half marathon. Participants who register by September 30th receive a finisher medal and shirt, and on-course support includes water, Gatorade, and GU at multiple aid stations.
