Celebrating its 32nd edition in 2025, the Haliburton Forest Trail Race is a cornerstone of Canadian trail running. Taking place on September 6–7, the event features five distances: 12K, 26K, 50K, 50 miles, and the signature 100-mile race. The courses traverse a mix of forested singletrack, rolling hills, and lakeside paths within the privately owned Haliburton Forest & Wild Life Reserve. Runners in the 100-mile event start at 6:00 AM on Saturday and have up to 33 hours to complete the course, while other distances start hourly thereafter. All finishers receive medals, with 100-mile finishers earning a coveted belt buckle. Registration opens on January 6, 2025, and participants must sign up by July 20 to guarantee race swag.
