Taking place on November 1, 2025, the 17th edition of the Kathmandu Marathon invites runners to “Run with the Himalayas” through a route rich in culture and heritage. Starting at 5:30 AM from Dasharath Stadium, participants in the marathon, half marathon, and shorter distances run through a certified course that winds across the historic urban landscapes of Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur, passing ancient temples, stupas, and bustling city streets. Organized annually since 2007, the event now attracts over 30,000 runners and includes the 10 km race, 5 km open run, a 3 km family team run, and school competitions, encouraging community-wide participation. All runners receive chip timing, event T-shirts, hydration support, medals, and certificates.
