Established in 1977, the Marquette Marathon offers runners a picturesque journey through Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The 2025 event kicks off in Ishpeming, traversing the Iron Ore Heritage Trail—a route rich in natural beauty and historical significance—before culminating at the Superior Dome in Marquette. With a net descent of 814 feet, the course is designed for speed, evidenced by over 23% of 2022 participants qualifying for the Boston Marathon. Runners will benefit from on-course hydration provided by Skratch Labs and energy gels from Honey Stinger. All finishers receive a commemorative medal and technical shirt, with awards presented to top finishers across various age groups.
