This iconic mountain running festival returns on August 1–3, 2025, offering something for every trail enthusiast in the scenic forests and peaks of Meråker, near the Swedish border. The weekend kicks off with the 100-mile Death March at noon on Friday, August 1, followed by the 70K ultra (Norwegian Trail Ultra Championship) at 9 AM on Saturday, and finishes with 42K, 21K, and 8K races across the weekend. Distances feature between 414 m (8K) and up to 6,200 m elevation gain (100M), climbing peaks over 1,000 m and finishing at Teveltunet Mountain Lodge. Trail types vary from rocky ridges and mountain tops to marshland and gravel roads, with all courses clearly marked and supported by checkpoints, aid stations, and a popular Friday pasta party . As part of the UTMB® World Series and featuring national championship status, the Meråker Mountain Challenge blends elite competition with breathtaking natural landscapes and a strong community vibe .
