On 31 December 2025, Grange Fermoy AC’s New Year’s Eve 10K sends runners on a one-lap loop around the Glanworth area, providing a classic end-of-year test on Cork’s rolling country roads. The route starts just outside the village, heads through rural lanes via junctions such as String Cross, Rahard Cross and Egan’s Cross, and finishes back near the top of the village, giving a mix of straights and gentle climbs over fully paved tarmac. With an AAI permit, chip timing, capped entries and parking based around Glanworth GAA and village car parks, it’s run as a well-organised club race with strong local support. Post-race, refreshments in the community centre and a friendly atmosphere make it as much a social gathering as a competitive outing, rounding off the racing year in North Cork style.
