Ultra Five-0 runs along the Hunua Traverse Trail from Kaiaua to Clevedon through the Hunua Ranges Regional Park, over varied terrain—gravel roads, single-track trails, chip-seal roads—with scenic reservoir views, native bush, and farmlands. The 50 km solo event begins at 8:00 AM from Kaiaua, includes a midpoint exchange and support at Mangatawhiri Dam (where the 25 km solo also starts), and finishes at Clevedon Showgrounds. Relay teams of 2 share the 50 km distance, switching at the dam point. Entrants must be at least 18 for the 50 km solo and 16 for relay teams or the 25 km solo. The event includes drop bag service, aid stations, mandatory gear, chip timing, and full logistical support.
