The Bury BID 10K launched in 2016 and has grown steadily in popularity as a welcoming, community-focused run for all levels of abilities. Held as part of the Bury Running Festival, the event includes additional Mini and Junior runs—typically a 1.5 km Mini run for children aged 3–8 and a 2.5 km Junior run for ages 9–14—all held on the same day and offering participants of all ages a chance to get active and have fun with family and friends. The main 10K race starts at 9:30 am outside The Rock Shopping Centre, guiding runners through scenic routes that include Tottington Road, Bury Road, the Kirklees Trail, before looping back to the town centre. Participants receive chip timing, a goody bag, an exclusive medal, and optional finisher’s T‑shirt, while the event village provides food, charity stalls, and sustainable initiatives like trainer recycling.
