Held over the weekend of Saturday 18 to Sunday 19 July 2026, the Gower Peninsula Ultra Challenge is a fully supported endurance event based at Penrice Castle on the Gower Peninsula in South Wales. From this castle basecamp, the 100 km route forms a figure-of-eight made up of west and east loops, while entrants can also choose shorter options including 75 km, 50 km, a marathon loop, 25 km and 10 km, all starting and finishing at basecamp. The courses showcase golden beaches, limestone cliffs, wild moors, ridges, dunes and ancient woodlands, giving a real mix of coastal and inland trail running or hiking. Fully way-marked trails, regular rest stops, hot food, camping options and lively bar and entertainment at basecamp make it a festival-style weekend that’s achievable for both first-time challengers and experienced ultra-distance athletes.
