On September 27, 2025, The Howling Ghost Trail Race returns for its third edition at Springwater Conservation Area, approximately 40 minutes west of London, Ontario. Runners can select from the daytime 8 km (1 loop), 16 km (2 loops), or 24 km (3 loops) distances—each comprised of runnable, wide, groomed loops through Carolinian forest. New for 2025 are the Night Howl 8K, requiring headlamps, and the Day/Night Challenge for those wanting to tackle both in one event. The race is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario, includes aid stations every ~8 km, chip timing, race shirts, finisher medals, and awards for best costumes (complete with prize credits). A portion of proceeds goes to the Children's Health Foundation, solidifying the festive, community-oriented spirit of the event.
