Held on 11 October 2025, the Kent Downs 50 Ultra Challenge features looped routes starting and finishing at the Kent Showground near Maidstone. Runners wind their way anticlockwise along the iconic North Downs Way, passing landmarks like Blue Bell Hill, Aylesford, River Medway, Mote Park (for a picnic halfway), Len Valley Walk, and the majestic Leeds Castle, before returning via the Downs. Distances include a challenging 50 km ultra (with approximately ~1,000 m ascent), alongside shorter 25 km and 10 km loops, accommodating walkers, joggers, and runners of all levels. Participants benefit from Ultra Challenge’s renowned support infrastructure: covered rest stops every ~12.5 km with food, drink, medical aid, and massage; GPS tracking via the Challenge App; camping at basecamp; transport links; and a jubilant finish-line celebration with a medal, T-shirt, and glass of fizz.
