Held across the weekend of Saturday 23 to Sunday 24 May 2026, the London 2 Brighton Ultra Challenge 2026 is the “original” Ultra Challenge, linking Richmond-upon-Thames with the Brighton coastline. Participants can walk, jog or run a range of distances: the full 100 km (continuous or 2-day daylight option), Three Quarter 75 km from Sutton, 1st Half 58 km to Turners Hill, the 2nd Half Sussex Marathon 42 km from Turners Hill to Brighton, a 1st Quarter 25 km Richmond to Oaks Park, a 2nd Quarter 33 km Oaks Park to Turners Hill, and the Brighton Loop 25 km based at Brighton Racecourse. The route is roughly 60% off-road, following riverside towpaths, bridleways and farm tracks over the North Downs and South Downs, interspersed with sections of quiet lanes and roads through Surrey and Sussex villages. With fully stocked rest stops every 10–15 km, camping options at halfway, and special categories for rapid runners (Trailblazerz) and brisk walkers (Ultra March), it’s designed as a supported endurance challenge rather than a traditional race. Every finisher is welcomed at Brighton Racecourse with a medal, T-shirt, hot meal and a glass of fizz to celebrate the journey from capital to coast.
