Race to the Stones is a weekend ultra-trail event (11-12 July 2026) following the ancient Ridgeway path and ending at the 5,000-year-old Avebury Standing Stones. Participants can take on 100 km non-stop, 100 km over two days (split into two 50 km stages), or run just one of the 50 km day stages (either the Thames Valley 50 km on day one or the Ridgeline 50 km on day two) as standalone challenges. The event is well supported with fully sign-posted trails, multiple aid/pit stops with real food, medical backup, and basecamp facilities for those doing the two-day version. It’s open to runners, walkers, and first-time ultramarathoners, with training and community support offered in the lead-up. With high completion rates and the choice of formats, it caters to a broad range of endurance levels.
