Celebrating its 12th annual staging, Run Oak Island 2026 offers two racing days on February 14–15, kicking off with a 10K at 7:00 AM, 5K at 8:30 AM, and 1 Mile at 9:30 AM on Saturday, followed by the start of the Ultra, Full Marathon, East Half at 7:45 AM, and the West Half at 8:00 AM on Sunday. The courses traverse flat, coastal roads with highlights such as the island lighthouse, ocean frontage, and an intracoastal bridge (West Half & Full) for a mix of scenic ocean and marsh views. Participants can also tackle a Saturday 3-Race Challenge (10K + 5K + 1 Mile) or multi-distance 2-day combos, earning massive 3‑D medals and tri‑blend shirts. Known for being flat, fast, and Boston-qualifier, the event fosters a festive vibe with packet pickup, a big-race feel, and a post-race festival featuring beer, BBQ, awards, and games. As the kickoff of the #BigAssMedal BAM! Race Series, it draws runners seeking scenic beaches, flat PR courses, and standout finisher bling.
