The Shanghai International Marathon, established in 1996, is one of Asia’s premier road races, drawing tens of thousands of participants from around the world each year. The 2025 edition will take place on Sunday, November 30, and features three official race categories: the Wheelchair Marathon (approx. 20 participants), the Full Marathon (42.195 km) with 23,000 runners, and the Mini Marathon with 15,000 participants. Runners must meet age requirements—at least 20 years old for the Full Marathon and 10 years old for the Mini Marathon. Guaranteed entry is available to top performers from select events, including the top 200 finishers of the Half Marathon at the 2025 Shanghai Women’s Half Marathon, top 200 men and top 100 women from the 2025 Shanghai Half Marathon, and top 150 men and top 100 women from the 2025 Shanghai Suzhou Creek Half Marathon.
