The Tecumseh Trail Challenge is a rugged and scenic trail-running festival held every October in Indiana’s Yellowwood State Forest, attracting runners of all levels to experience the beauty and difficulty of the Midwest’s forested terrain. Participants can choose from five race options: an 8-mile fun run, a half marathon (13.1 miles), a full marathon (26.2 miles), a 50K ultramarathon, or a 50K relay for teams of 2 to 4 people. The courses traverse a mix of singletrack trails, gravel paths, and forest roads, with steep climbs and technical sections that challenge even seasoned trail runners. The event offers a festival-like atmosphere with primitive camping, a s’mores buffet, a post-race mashed potato bar, and custom engraved finisher medals. Known for its community spirit, stunning fall foliage, and rewarding difficulty, the Tecumseh Trail Challenge is a hallmark endurance event in Southern Indiana.
