The Maverick Race on offers four distinct trail routes that showcase some of the most dramatic and beautiful landscapes along the Jurassic Coast. The flagship 100km Ultra begins at Hardy Monument and follows the South Dorset Ridgeway before connecting to the South West Coast Path at Osmington. This route treats runners to stunning coastal views of multiple Jurassic Coast bays, including the iconic rock formations of Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove, while also challenging them with steep climbs and varied terrain. The 100km course then merges with the 54km Long route near Corfe Castle, allowing runners to experience all the highlights of that route as well. The Long, Middle, and Short routes start near the picturesque village of Corfe Castle and gradually lead runners through marshland and toward the coast. The Middle and Long distances pass the striking Old Harry’s Rocks and follow coastal ridges via the Purbeck Way, offering a mix of rugged coastal trails and panoramic views. The Long route continues further, taking runners to the tip of the Purbecks, passing Winspit Quarry, and tackling the notorious steps at St. Aldhelms Head. From there, the route follows the Hardy Way, descending Knowle Hill with glimpses of Corfe Castle before approaching the finish. Throughout, runners face a variety of terrain—from gentle marshland paths to steep coastal climbs—providing a balanced mix of challenge and scenic beauty. This race demands endurance, strength, and focus, rewarding participants with some of the most breathtaking trail running experiences in the UK.
