The Spokane Marathon is a non-profit, volunteer-driven race that showcases the natural beauty and urban charm of Spokane. The marathon course begins and ends in downtown Spokane, guiding runners through historic neighborhoods like Browne’s Addition, along the Centennial Trail, and across the Spokane River via the Seven-Mile Bridge. A notable feature is the infamous Doomsday Hill at mile 22, testing runners’ endurance. Participants are cheered on by local high school cross-country teams staffing aid stations, creating a supportive and energetic atmosphere. Finishers receive commemorative apparel: marathoners a hoodie, half marathoners a long-sleeve shirt, and 10K and relay participants a short-sleeve shirt.
