On October 18, 2025, Lake Havasu City hosts the first-ever Lizard Peak Scramble, encouraging runners and hikers to tackle one of its most iconic landmarks via stunning desert trails. The event includes a chip-timed 10K scramble, a spirited 5K scramble, and a Kids 1K Dirt Dash—each route winding across loose gravel, sandy washes, and technical single-track, with a steep rock-wall scramble near the summit of Lizard Peak. On reaching the top, participants are rewarded with panoramic views of the city, the striking “giant lizard” rock formation, and the shimmering blue waters of Lake Havasu before descending via rocky switchbacks. All race finishes include medals, recovery stations with hydration, snacks, cold plunge, and physical therapy support—while event shirt sales support mental health initiatives for firefighters via the nonprofit A Clear Path Forward.
