Founded in 1998 by Olympic gold medalist Joan Benoit Samuelson, the TD Beach to Beacon 10K has become one of New England’s premier road races. The 2025 event is scheduled for August 2, featuring a picturesque course that starts on Route 77 near Crescent Beach State Park and winds through tree-lined streets with ocean vistas, finishing at Fort Williams Park adjacent to the Portland Head Light. The race attracts both elite athletes and recreational runners from around the world. In addition to the main event, race weekend includes the Kids’ Fun Run and the Beacon Walk, Run, Roll, promoting inclusivity and community engagement. Best Buddies Maine has been selected as the 2025 race beneficiary, receiving support through fundraising efforts and donations.
