Organized by Troy’s California Trail Runs, this point-to-point winter half uses the Southside Trail around Folsom Lake to deliver rolling, mostly single-track miles with some technical sections and short dirt-road connectors. The course showcases oak-dotted foothills, lake views and distant Sierra peaks, with a typical 8:00 AM start and a ~4.5-hour time limit for the half. Starts are usually staged from the Salmon Falls/Falcon Crest area with the finish at Brown’s Ravine/Hobie Cove, so plan for shuttle/parking logistics on race day. Expect a runnable but scenic trail challenge that’s popular with local trail runners and winter-training groups.
