Ultra-Trail Australia by UTMB 2026 turns the World Heritage–listed Blue Mountains into a four-day trail-running playground from 14–17 May 2026. Runners can choose between the flagship UTAMiler (around 160 km), the classic UTA100, the demanding yet accessible UTA50, and shorter but still punchy options in the UTA22 and UTA11, together with a 1 km kids’ race at Scenic World. Courses dive in and out of sandstone cliffs, rainforest gullies and eucalyptus forest, linking iconic spots like the Jamison Valley, Kedumba Pass and the Furber Steps with endless staircases, singletrack and ridge lines. Elevation gain is serious—thousands of metres of climbing on the longer courses—so legs and lungs get a full workout while runners are treated to waterfalls, lookouts and big valley views. With expo events in Katoomba, a strong international field and UTMB World Series status, the weekend blends world-class competition with a buzzing community atmosphere in one of Australia’s most spectacular natural settings.
