On 10 May 2026, thousands of participants will line up on Zadar’s seafront to start the Wings for Life World Run simultaneously with runners all around the world, united by the goal of funding research into spinal cord injury. Unlike traditional races, there is no finish line: everyone starts together, and a Catcher Car sets off behind the field after a short delay, gradually speeding up until it overtakes each participant and ends their race, whether they’ve covered 3 km or 40 km. The Zadar flagship course is run entirely on paved coastal roads, beginning at the old port area (Liburnska obala) and heading out of the city along the Adriatic shoreline, offering open sea views, sunshine and a light sea breeze. The event is fully inclusive, welcoming runners, walkers and wheelchair athletes of all abilities to go as far as they can before the Catcher Car arrives. With its seaside setting, evening global broadcast and festival atmosphere, Zadar has become one of the most iconic Wings for Life World Run locations worldwide.
